Beginner oil painting checklist
(with discount codes for you)
I know how overwhelming it can be starting out with oil painting, there’s almost too much information online with conflicting advice
After using oils for the past 3 years, I’ve used a lot of different products, tools and mediums so I’ve made you a materials list of everything I’d buy if I was starting from scratch again
Oil paint
I’d recommend starting with a limited palette from an affordable brand like Meeden or Mont Marte
The only colours you’ll need are:
Ultramarine Blue
Cadmium Red Medium
Cadmium Yellow Medium
Burnt Umber
Titanium White
You can learn to mix all of your colours with this limited palette easily! And bonus: it’s so much easier to re-create the same colour over and over when you’ve only got 5 options to choose from.
Use the code PAIGE12 for a 12% discount on all Meeden products - please note this is an affiliate link so I do make a small commission (a few cents tbh) I just want to be able to pass the discount on to anyone who may benefit from it.
